The Loss Of Innocence - Mar. 5 2026

When Adam felt the shame of being nude,

And Eve, as serpent sits betwixt a twig,

Did either child of God savor the fruit,

Or instantly adorn the leaf of fig?

Who first had gazed upon the other bare?

Who first had shuddered, nervous at the truth?

Who first had wept while kneeling down for prayer?

“I beg you, Lord, don’t answer me aloof.”

Did they embrace when they had learned their fate:

The burden of not knowing who to trust?

Did they, for pleasure, learn to procreate,

Or only for the Lord had said they must?
